The client built the existing large dormer bungalow 30 years ago in the garden of the neighbouring property and there were several aspects of the original design that they had outgrown over the years. To the rear of the property there were underutilised long distance countryside views.

We were approach to undertake a complete remodel of the interior layout, open up the rear of the property to the large gardens and countryside views as well as complete a facelift of the entire property.

The proposals included remodelling the kitchen / sitting / dining room and opening up the rear wall to create a new connection with the patio and garden beyond - allowing more natural light to spill into the most used room of the home.

At first floor the existing master bedroom turned its back on the views, with an ensuite, a bathroom, and guest bedroom occupying the rear windows. We have completely re-worked the plan to create a master bedroom with Juliet balcony and a second bedroom with framed views. The property has also transformed from a 3 bedroom home to a 4 bedroom (all generous doubles) home without increase to the footprint.

The finished scheme will improve the layout, flow, internal comfort, and overall enjoyment of their home. The proposal enhances the rear of the property, and improves their connections between garden and kitchen, creating a high-quality contemporary addition to their family home.

BCAE worked in both 2D, 3D and Virtual Reality to convey the designs and different iterations to the client.
