Project Overview

We loved getting to know Oliver & Eloise for this project which was about creating a forever eco home in the grounds of an existing family property. We got to know them and their lifestyle, what they liked, their aspirations and also what was non-negotiable! This gave us great foundations and together we then came up with a design that seamlessly merged the rural charm of the surrounding South Ribble countryside with savvy energy saving ideas.

‘The Barn' is a bespoke eco-home, designed as their ‘forever home.’ Situated on family land, this project blends the charm of the rural landscape with cutting-edge sustainability. Every detail was thoughtfully crafted to reflect their vision for a home that embraces its natural surroundings while minimizing environmental impact.

With solar panels, battery storage, eco-friendly heating, and superior insulation, the design ensures energy efficiency without compromising comfort. The open-plan interior is flooded with natural light, creating a warm, inviting space. Each element of the home speaks to both rustic beauty and modern eco-innovation, resulting in a sanctuary that is as functional as it is visually stunning.

Our favourite memory
A couple of weeks after completion receiving this message from Oliver: "This balcony is the best thing, I’m obsessed with it! Sat out watching the rain and lightning now!"

Timescales

We were originally appointed in June 2021, with planning succesfully achieved in October 2021. Construction started on site in September 2022 with Oliver and Eloise moving into the property in November 2023.

Kind words

"Ben understood our vision from the first design appointment, and his drawings took our lifestyle into full consideration. Arron and Ben have stayed in contact throughout the build, ensuring any amendments are in line with the aesthetic we want for our finished home. It would have been a lot more stressful without their help!" Oliver & Eloise
